ALASKA DESIGN FORUM
Design Challenge for the 2021 Season
Match by Design
What is Match by Design?
Match by Design is a memory card game for the visually inclined. It consists of a deck of 50 pairs of matched thematic images.
Match by Design is a fun tool to keep the eye sharp while on the hunt for perfectly matched pairs. It is a game that trains the mental agility and acumen of players while showcasing talents of the local design community through the images selected. The inaugural set, the Role of Play Edition, will consist of the chosen 50 submissions from the Design Challenge. It will be expandable via additional editions and bonus packs in the future.
The Challenge
Match by Design is open to all, regardless of design/professional background. Submissions can be from individuals or teams. An individual/ team may make up to 10 submissions.
High-quality submissions of images/artwork that represents the Role of Play in relationship to Alaska are encouraged. Participants in Match by Design are permitted to work in whatever medium they feel is best suited to their skillset and interests. For example, your medium of choice may be (but is not limited to), the following: hand-drawing, photoshop, photography, product design, model making, sculpture, or vector-works. Just keep in mind that the final product will be a 2-dimensional card that will play in a deck with other images representational of the Role of Play in Alaska.
